2. Determine Your Storage Needs

The first step is to determine exactly what you need to store. Consider these factors to ensure you choose the right fit:
  • Amount of Items: Create an accurate estimate of your belongings. Take rough measurements of large items to visualize the space.
  • Type of Items: Large furniture or appliances require more space than stacked boxes of books.
  • Budget: We offer flexible month-to-month contracts. Factor in the monthly cost when deciding on the unit size.
  • Access Frequency: If you need to grab items often, choose a slightly larger unit so you can create a center aisle for easy walking access.

3. Choose Your Unit Type

We offer a variety of configurations to suit different requirements:
  • Drive-Up Units: Our most common and convenient option. You can unload directly from your vehicle into the unit, avoiding the hassle of carts or elevators.
  • Climate-Controlled Units: Essential for items sensitive to temperature and humidity, such as electronics, antiques, or important documents.
  • Vehicle Storage: Specifically designed for cars, boats, or RVs that need a secure home away from your driveway.
  • Portable Storage: Also known as storage containers, these provide a flexible solution for those who need on-site versatility.

4. The Check-In Process

Once you have reserved your unit online or by calling the facility office, follow these steps to get started:
  1. Check-In at the Office: Bring a valid photo ID and your payment information.
  2. Sign the Rental Agreement: This lease outlines the terms, rent due dates, and facility policies.
  3. Secure Your Unit: You will need to lock your unit with your own lock. You can bring one from home or purchase a high-quality lock directly from our office.

5. Moving In & Protecting Your Belongings

Proper preparation ensures your items stay in pristine condition while in storage:
  • Lift it Up: We recommend keeping items off the floor using wood scraps or pallets. This protects against condensation or potential moisture.
  • Pack Smart: Use small boxes for heavy items (books) and large boxes for light items (linens). Use bubble wrap and packing tape generously.
  • Create an Inventory: Keep a list of what is in each box. Labeling the sides of boxes (not just the tops) makes them easier to read when stacked.
  • Monitor Regularly: It is a good idea to visit your unit periodically to check on your belongings and ensure everything remains secure.

6. Moving Out

When you are ready to move out, please provide the office with plenty of notice. Ensure the unit is swept clean and empty, and all your personal locks are removed. Don't forget to visit our Storage Units page for specific pricing and availability at your preferred location!
